3 Pitfalls When Trying To Lose Weight

There are a lot of reasons why people tend to not lose weight and knowing some of the pitfalls could help a person from repeating the same mistakes.  If you want a successful weight loss program then try to avoid these 3 pitfalls to losing weight.

Pitfall #1:  A Person’s Mind Is Not Right to Lose Weight

Probably the biggest factor for people not to be able to lose weight would be that they really mentally ready to make the necessary changes.  I often think that people weight loss mindset like the Staples commercials where they press and “easy button” for all their office products needs.  There is no easy solution or magical trick to reach true weight loss.  You have to be willing to make a permanent lifestyle change and sort of be a new person.  Very difficult to do and not one easily reached.  Reaching this level successfully is about 90% of the battle to losing weight.

Pitfall #2:  No Weight Loss or Fitness Plan Established

One of the reasons I love the Beachbody system so much is that it spells out both the diet and fitness plan for people to follow.  They provide thick manuals on how you should diet and train, but this process is often lost on most people.  They either diet without working out or work out without dieting.  Or they may do both one day but slack off the other day.  Not having this organized and structured will leave loopholes for failure to sneak in.  I suggest if you are going to take the step to start working out and dieting to at least start with discussing the process with a fitness professional to get you on the right path.

Pitfall #3:  No Time to Workout

People use the excuse that they don’t have time to work out and sometimes that is true, but if you asked most people how much time they watch TV they say at least hour a day.  People don’t have time to work out…they have to make the time to work out.  One buddy used to bring his children with him to work out every day and the kids loved it.  We took turns lifting and watching the kids.  You make sacrifices to live healthy.  What sacrifices are you willing to make?
