Bad Habits that lead to Acne
There are many misconceptions that surround acne and that leads to confusion over how to handle the problem. But acne isn’t just about what you do with your skin. It can involve your overall life style and daily habits that you may or may not partake in. Acne is a problem that has biological causes deeply intertwined with how a body functions. So it makes sense that treating the problem should involve a comprehensive approach that takes a variety of factors into account.
One bad habit that leads to acne is the popping of pimples. It may seem ironic that getting rid of acne would actually lead to the formation of more pimples, but that is exactly what happens. When you pop a pimple you create a break in the skin that leads to scars or a spread in bacterial infection. And if you are in the habit of washing your skin more than two times a day, you will want to change that immediately. Acne prone skin is very sensitive and over-washing can actually make things worse. If you have acne, you want to touch your skin as little as possible or you risk promoting pimple formation on all parts of your face. You’ll also have to adequately wash your oily hair is it touches your face.
You must take care to stay out of the sun if you have bad acne as sunny weather can make things worse. Don’t fall under the mistaken belief that tanning will get rid of acne because it surely does not. Also avoid smoking as this is a leading contributor of acne due to the toxins that are absorbed into the bloodstream. While diet has not been proven to have a direct impact on acne, it is always a good idea to maintain healthy eating habist every day. Making sure you are healthy overall will not only make you feel better, but with time and a proper acne cream, your skin will show better results.
