Pimples and acne can plague anyone of any age, though it is mostly considered a problem for teens and young adults. Regardless of your age, when you have acne, all you want is to get rid of it. You feel self-conscious, and even if you are successful in covering it, you still do not feel your best. So you want a product that will get rid of your pimples fast.
There are many pimple creams on the market. You see infomercials every day about clearing up your skin. The store shelves are crammed with products that claim to help rid you of acne. What really does work?
Clearing up acne depends on the severity of your acne and your skin type. Products that may work for one person could be useless on someone else. So experimentation is needed. You have to try the product to see if it will work on your skin condition. If it doesn’t, then you must try something else.
Benzoyl peroxide is the most common ingredient in pimple creams. The higher the percentage of benzoyl peroxide in the product, the more drying it will be to the skin. If your skin is oily, you may find this ingredient to be helpful. But if your skin is already somewhat dry, or if you have sensitive skin, benzoyl peroxide might irritate more than it will help. In that case, salicylic acid may be the ingredient you would want to try. Salicylic acid also works on drying pimples but is not quite as irritating on sensitive skin.
There are some acne products that are meant to cover your pimples at the same time that they dry up the problem. Sulphur can sometimes be found in tinted pimple creams. It is also a drying agent and can be irritating to the skin. If you try any of these products, you should just use a small amount at first on a small area, to see how your skin reacts. If it doesn’t cause irritation, then you can use more.
Experiment with different creams until you find the one that will work best for you.
