The title to this blog post is sort of a loaded question—the answer is, it depends. If you eat a healthy and balanced diet, with lots of variety and ample fruits and vegetables in addition to lean meats and dairy products, and healthy whole grain bread, your body may be getting all of the nutrition that it needs.

However, if you are ever guilty of skipping meals, eating a considerable amount of either fast food takeout or frozen and prepared foods, you likely are not getting the proper nutrients, even while consuming far too many calories per day.

The choice to be made is whether to commit to eating only those foods which will lead to optimal health- largely unprocessed foods, without trans-fats and preservatives. If you believe that you can change your diet immediately to a more natural, whole foods approach, then by all means you should do so. The body processes real and natural foods best, and utilizes the vitamins and minerals from whole foods better than any other source.

Then again, if you feel that would be difficult, or that it would take you some time to re-train your thought patterns until you will be able to eat healthily enough to support all of your body’s systems adequately, then supplementing is a great alternative to ensure your body gets what it needs.

Over the years of working in different health food stores, I met a great number of people that told me success stories about coq10. When they told me about the benefits of this supplement, most of the time I had to hold back a smile. I had already researched this interesting, naturally occurring substance that exist in our bodies as babies. However, I had to make sure that I listened intently to what they had to say.

I know I probably sounded arrogant in that last paragraph, but I was fortunate enough to not only work in the health food industry, but I also had a boss that encouraged us to learn more and more about the products we sold.

After a few years, I had a chance to work with a nutritionist. This was a humbling experience. She quickly taught me that all of the book knowledge I had acquired about supplements while I put my way through college was only a small part of what I needed to know.

Coq10 has many benefits for a lot of different people. Some people have found coq10 benefits to help with cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, Parkinson’s and other ailments. Much research has been done with coq10 and it has also been shown to help energize cells in the brain. Now who couldn’t use more “brain energy” from time to time?

The older we get, the more we need additional coq10 in our bodies. When we are born, we have a good supply it, but as we age our bodies produce less. Some statin drugs like Zocor and Lipitor may also decrease the enzyme that creates coq10. This means that if you take a statin for cholesterol, it is very important to ask your doctor whether a product like Now Foods Coq10 would be a good choice for you.

People are getting fatter by each passing year. There is no way around it (no pun intended). We are becoming a unhealthy nation. Obese people cannot work or if the manage to work, they are often taking sick days. That is very bad for the economy, well not for the food industry and the fast food restaurants. For some reason the government seems to be reluctant to make changes to the legislation. By banning trans-fats and high fructose corn syrup and by taxing sugar, we could be a much healthier nation. It is a good thing that people are becoming more conscious about the situation and are trying to get rid of that unnecessary weight. Still, losing weight is not easy and to support their weight loss goals people are using fat burning supplements to help shed those pounds.

One particular supplement has become very popular, because many people find it very effective. It is a extract from plant called hoodia. It grows in the plains of Namibia and it has been used by locals as medicine for thousands of year. Recent studies have shown that hoodia supplements actually suppress appetite and improve your metabolism. So, you eat less and burn more fat. People often ask what is the best hoodia supplement, but there is no specific answer. There are so many types available and new ones are entering the market every day. Look for supplements that have been made of dried hoodia gordonii-plant. Studies have shown that it is the most potent of the different plants. Then make sure that you use a it properly. Hoodia should be taken between after meals with a potent dosage. About 250 to 300 mg of hoodia extract is what you should aim for. But like all weight loss supplements, this one is not a miracle drug. You still need to eat healthy and exercise.

Because Vitamin B12 is widely available and there is a very low risk of negative reactions to taking large doses of it, there are a lot of claims made about the possible benefits of taking it as a supplement. Some of these claims are based on sound science, some are inferred from debatable scientific data, and some completely lack a scientific basis. The claim that pregnant women should take supplementary Vitamin B12 shots to ensure that there is no deficiency is one of the claims based on solid science and multiple studies and clinical trials. It has been conclusively proven that pregnant women use a lot more Vitamin B12 than they normally do and that a deficiency can result in very serious complications, especially to the developing fetus.

Vitamin B12 has been shown to help women ovulate properly and has been shown to play a direct bearing on the development of the fetus once pregnancy has begun. Several studies conducted in 2008 and 2009 showed that women with low levels of Vitamin B12, with or without a full deficiency, ran a much higher risk of having babies with neural tube defects, such as spina bifida. Further, if there is a full deficiency, there can be very serious consequences to the woman’s health as well. One of these studies was conducted in India, where many women have strict vegetarian diets and are therefore much more prone to Vitamin B12 deficiency since all natural sources of the nutrient come from the consumption of animal products. While this is less of an issue in the western world where vegetarianism is less prevalent, women that maintain a strict vegan diet are particularly at risk.

Some of the studies also indicate that having exceptionally high levels of Vitamin B12 – more than the minimum required to avoid deficiency related problems – appeared to gain additional benefits from it. This is one of the few claims related to Vitamin B12 where the “more is better” mantra is at least partially substantiated by sound medical research. Pregnant women should certainly consider taking a supplementary Vitamin B-12 shot throughout their pregnancies and on through their nursing period. It has also been shown that nursing mothers use a lot more Vitamin B12 than normal.

This little B-12 vitamin is involved in much more than the average person realizes. Aside from being an energy booster, it can help you if you have problems sleeping. And if your appetite is not what it should be, then some B-12 could be the answer you are looking for. It plays a role in controlling your cholesterol, it helps to build muscles, and contributes to building health bones as well. And yet another benefit is the preservation of the nerve tissues. It is quite a wonderful little vitamin.

When you hear the word sublingual, all it means is that you put it under the tongue. This is a proven way for it to go directly into your bloodstream, and is much more effective than depending on digestion to get it there. Another ingredient that you find in this mixture, is Biotin, and it also helps in the cases of chronic fatigue. It is a co-worker with the vitamin B-12 in metabolizing food fats and breaking them down. Also, keep in mind that you can look for a definitive guide to sublingual b12 if you need more information on the subject.

For those with sensitive taste buds, many of these supplements come coated with a sweetener called Sorbitol. It adds a kind of fruity taste that makes it easier for those taste sensitive people to take. And, when you think of the alternative of getting a shot, a sweet sublingual b12 vs injections that hurt is a no brainer. Sometimes the niacin that is also found in this mix will cause you to experience some flushing and some skin reddening, but it is usually very short in duration and passes quickly.

Making use of sublingual vitamin B can help you with many problems that people experience as they get older and are depleted of it. If you need to regulate your sleeping, or suffer from muscle cramps or chronic fatigue, then you owe it to yourself to give this stuff a try. It is natural and very beneficial to those who truly need it. You can find it online very easily with the use of a search engine.
