Dealing With Sweaty Armpits

Taking care of underarm sweat is a staple of today’s personal care regimen. The odor created by microscopic bacteria eating away at dead skin cells that mix with one’s sweat is pungent and can be brutal on anyone up close and personal. Properly handling this part of daily living is important and not just for making yourself look good. A pleasant odor about oneself is an essential part of one’s self-image. It helps with communication and forming good social acquaintances and connections. In addition, it obviously aids one in the pursuit of romantic interests. For most of us, a good combination antiperspirant-deodorant for men is all we need to keep everything under control.

Excessive underarm sweat, however, is a problem that many men suffer from. Medically speaking it is known as hyperhidrosis. This particular disorder can vary from mild to very severe and treatment can range from the prescription of pharmaceuticals to corrective surgery in some cases. Underarm perspiration is one of the most, if not the most common form, of this ailment. It is due to the concentration of sweat glands in the armpit. Other areas of the body where this affliction can arise are the pubic area as well as the hands and feet.

The best natural remedy for sweaty armpits is to take an organically grown lemon, cut it in half and rub the cut side over the armpit. This will eliminate any odor for about twelve hours at which time the lemon juice must be applied again. This remedy will not work for axillary hyperhidrosis, or excessively sweaty armpits. If you have hyperhidrosis or think you may have hyperhidrosis, consult with your physician. There are many antiperspirants marketed as cures for hyperhidrosis and excessive underarm sweating. There is a caveat associated with these products, however. Many of them contain chemicals that may actually stimulate the production of sweat in certain people. Stay away from antiperspirants unless your doctor specifically orders it as part of your treatment.
