Don’t Forget About The Skin You Can’t See

Even though, we know it’s there, for some reason we seem to pay very little attention to our scalp skin.  Even though we probably itch it, brush it, touch it, and poke it every day, we really don’t do a whole lot to care for it.  Good scalp care should be a regular part of your regular hygiene regiment.   It’s simple to do, and doesn’t take a lot of time.  Just because you can’t always see the skin underneath your fabulous fro, doesn’t mean it deserves any less respect than the more visible skin on your face and arms.  Aside from just feeling better, good scalp hygiene can prevent a whole host of maladies that come with an itchy scalp.

You can buy products to deal with things like scalp pimples, but sometimes it also a matter of understanding a little more about how things work on the surface of your head.  It could simply be that your using the wrong type of shampoo for your skin and hair needs.  Some shampoos, especially the cheaper ones may have bad PH balances, that don’t do a very good job of cleaning, and actually aid in the build up of bacteria in your hair follicles.  Read the labels of your shampoos and conditioners, and read some consumer reports to see which really do the better job of cleaning.  A little knowledge can go a long way towards a healthy and happy scalp.
