Lose Weight Quick: Drinking More Water Gets Rid of Water Weight

Often times, people who are trying to lose weight quick are worried about drinking a lot of water because they don’t want the excess water to show up on the scale.  Don’t chug a huge glass or bottle of water right before you step on the scale, but it is definitely okay to drink water, and in fact it is recommended to do so in order to get the weight loss results you want.

The problem is that most people are chronically dehydrated because they do not get enough water each day.  Drinking sodas, energy drinks, and coffee all contribute to the dehydration problem.  When you are dehydrated, it is your body’s natural response to hold onto as much water as it can.  Not drinking enough water is what leads to excess water weight, and that can throw off your weight loss amounts.  Instead, if you are drinking a lot of water throughout the day, your body knows that it will be getting more water, so it doesn’t store the water and eliminates it.  That’s why you are needing to urinate more often if you are drinking a lot of water.

Another great benefit of drinking more water is that your body will be running at an optimum level.  Water is to our bodies as oil is to a car because it helps to keep all of the body parts running smoothly and correctly.  When your body is doing this, it is burning more calories because your metabolism is higher.  The more calories you burn, the more fat you burn, the more weight you lose and the better you look.

Drinking water helps to increase your energy levels as well.  Try to cut out the caffeinated drinks during your work day, and instead drink more water.  It may take a few days for your body to adjust, but you should soon see that you have even more energy than you did when you were drinking all of those coffees each day, plus you’ll be helping your body to lose weight.
