Simple Options for Back Hair – Waxes and Creams

For those who desire to eliminate their hirsute appearance, there are a number of methods for removing unwanted body hair. The area considered the most unsightly covered in hair is the back. Since this is an area you cannot really do much with by yourself, getting help in removing back hair is a necessary thing.

The back is a very large area in relation to most body parts and plucking hairs one at a time is ridiculously inefficient. There are a number of waxes and creams that can be utilized to take care of unwanted back hair quickly and (relatively) painlessly. Sugar wax has been used for centuries in the removal of unwanted body hair. The thick syrupy sugar wax is spread warm on the skin of the back and a strip of muslin or linen cloth is pressed into the sugar. As it cools the sugar wax will hold onto both the hair and the cloth so a quick yank will bring the patch loose and take a mass of the hairs with it. While this is an inexpensive option, the sugar does require frequent reapplication to maintain the hair-free state. Sugar wax is one of many options for back hair removal.

There are several brands of commercial hair removal wax. Some come packaged with the cloth strips ready to go, others with the wax already attached to the cloth, or that harden enough to pull by the wax alone. The basic principle is the same regardless. You coat the hair then pull it out and try not to mind the sting.

Another method is to use a hair dissolving cream such as Nair or Skin So Soft. These creams are slightly acidic and their chemical formulation is designed to melt the hair without damaging the skin. Being of a chemical nature, these products can have an adverse effect on some people even though they are perfectly painless for others. It will require testing a small patch of skin first to see if you are going to have an allergic reaction.
